The Premier Mark McGowan has clarified today at a press conference that people who left Perth and Peel yesterday must follow lockdown rules.
If you have been in Perth of Peel since April 17 and now somewhere else in WA, you must continue to follow the lockdown rules.
Thousands of people are said to have left Perth since this time, with families in the regions north and south.
The only reason you should leave is for essential work, compassionate reasons, buying essential items and for one hour of exercise.
Perth and Peel are in day one of a 3-day lockdown, with people unable to leave now for other parts of WA.
2.2 million people across the Perth and Peel region are told to stay home and wear a mask if they leave their homes.
No new cases
There are no new cases in Perth today, with tests coming back negative for close contacts of the woman who had tested positive yesterday.
