WA Premier Mark McGowan’s personal approval rating remains sky high, despite the 5-day lockdown of Perth and SW WA called after a hotel quarantine worker caught the virus.
According to a poll conducted for The West Australian newspaper today, 88% of people are satisfied with the Premiers performance.
The poll shows the popular Premier maintaining near record high approval by voters.
18-39 year old voters gave the ALP leader a 91% satisfaction rating.
The Premier is often the subject of vital social media videos, including Instagram and TikTok memes.
The Premiers leadership was questioned earlier in the week when it was revealed that security guards in hotel quarantine programs were not required to wear a mask.
Over 2 million people in Perth and SW WA were told to lockdown last week after one guard tested positive with the virus.
There remains a mask mandate for Perth and people cannot travel from Perth to the regions until Sunday.
The Premier will face 32-year-old Liberal Leader Zack Kirkup at the March 2021 State election.
