A new iconic apartment lifestyle development in the heart of South Perth is now officially underway.
Officials have broken ground at the new Civic Heart by Finbar development on the Swan River.
Following years of delays and setbacks, the Finbar development will begin building, with some 90% of apartments already sold.
The $150 million, twin tower, 39 and 22-storey development was delayed several times over the last few years due to planning issues with regulators.
320-apartments and 25 commercial tenancies will be created.
The apartments will include four penthouses, a 25-metre pool, two gyms, massage rooms and saunas, two theatrettes and a rooftop viewing deck on the 37th floor.
The Finbar team will likely be breathing in relief today. The development was forced to redesign several times and is now finally underway.
Planning Minister Rita Saffioti intervened, using her powers to get the project underway.
“Some key issues in respect to the podium, the ground floor area that interacts with the street and the community, we have made some significant improvements to that, in particular to the green wall and how that space interacts with the street,” she said recently.
The building will be highly visible across from the Perth CBD, South Perth and Kings Park.
